3 hurt after police chase in Wilmington; suspect in custody

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Three people were injured when a police chase ended in a crash in Wilmington, Delaware.

It happened around 9 p.m. Saturday at 7th and Spruce streets.

Authorities told Action News, the suspect was fleeing police when he hit another car.

Two people in that car and a person in the suspect's vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect was arrested at the scene.

Police say they also recovered a handgun.

It's still not clear what touched off the chase.
