BABYLON -- A heartbreaking case of animal neglect on Long Island apparently will have a happy ending.
A dog that was brought to the town of Babylon animal shelter so weighed down by 4 pounds of matted fur that he couldn't walk properly, has found a home. The Suffolk County SPCA plans to announce Friday that "Ziggy" will be adopted by a family.
Roy Gross, chief of the Suffolk County SPCA, said that there is still a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for abandoning and neglecting Ziggy.
Ziggy was found in an abandoned house in Lindenhurst. The dog was shaved and brought back to health.
