Driver escapes burning car after crash in Newark

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- A driver escaped a burning car after a crash on Interstate 95 in Newark, Delaware.

It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday on southbound I-95 at Route 273.

The driver in a car slammed into the back of a tractor trailer.

The car then burst into flames.

Fortunately, the driver escaped with minor injuries, and was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment.

The driver in the big rig was not hurt.
