Two area schools receive National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence distinction

A big surprise and a huge honor for students at Saint Maximilian Kolbe School in West Chester.

Their school was named a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

Kolbe is one of only 50 private schools in the country to make to the list.

Also making the list, General George A. McCall School in Center City.

McCall school was honored during a nationwide webcast Thursday.

The Blue Ribbon designation goes to schools demonstrating academic success.
