30th annual AIDS walk and 5K

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Excitement is building for an annual event in Philadelphia, to benefit AIDS research.

The 30th annual AIDS walk and 5K will take place Sunday October 16th in the city.

Organizers were here in Rittenhouse Square Thursday, trying to raise awareness about the event, and the continuing fight to help those affected by AIDs and HIV.

Volunteers also erected this visual timeline in the park, to highlight the strides made in the battle against AIDS, thanks to fund-raising events like the upcoming walk and run.
