VIDEO: Keeping kidneys healthy
The best way to enjoy the holidays is to take good care of your body.

During the holidays it's easy to let your diet or healthy habits slip.

And while that's fine in some cases, for some people it can spell trouble.

Doctors say the season can be dangerous for people who have kidney disease.

Excess eating or drinking or having meals with high protein, sodium or potassium could spark problems.

"People who have severe and advanced diseases, just with one single meal, may end up in the hospital and we see that fairly common as well," said Dr. Juan Calle, Cleveland Clinic.

Many times, people with kidney disease also have other medical conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
