Study shows Mediterranean diet could help prevent depression. Gray Hall reports during Action News at 7 a.m. on September 29, 2018.

A new study finds a Mediterranean diet rich in vegetables, fruits, nuts and fish could help prevent depression.

Researchers found those who followed the diet strictly had a 33-percent lower risk of being diagnosed with depression.

People whose diets were high in inflammatory foods, like processed meats, trans fats and alcohol, were more likely to have depression.
