The number of cases of prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body has skyrocketed, according to a team at Northwestern University.
They found a 72 percent increase from 2004 to 2013, with the biggest jump in men 55 to 69 years old.
The doctors say two factors may be to blame - fewer men getting screened because of more lax guidelines and that the disease itself has become more aggressive.
They add the guidelines need fine-tuning.
