IKEA saying goodbye to summer with Swedish Crayfish Party

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Everybody's favorite Swedish furniture store is throwing an all-you-can-eat crayfish party at participating stores nationwide as we bid adieu to summer this September.

IKEA's annual Swedish Crayfish Party will take place on Friday, Sep. 15.

The menu includes crayfish, soup, deviled eggs, cucumber salad, potato salad, gravad lax, Swedish cheese and meatballs, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and assorted Swedish desserts.

Tickets cost $18.99 per person for adults and $4.99 for kids 12 and under. Members of IKEA FAMILY, the retailer's loyalty program, can get in for $14.99 for adults or $2.99 for children.

The retailer recommends that tickets be purchased in advance, as seating is limited.

"The Crayfish Party is an anticipated celebration in Sweden marking the end of the summer and the official beginning of Crayfish fishing season," said IKEA Food Manager Patricia Meumann. "We invite everyone to celebrate this tradition and share a piece of our Swedish heritage over a delicious meal."
