AUDUBON, N.J. (WPVI) -- It was an unforgettable night for a World War II Veteran honored in Camden County, New Jersey.
The freeholder board honored Joseph Pauro at its meeting Wednesday Night.
The Navy gunner was badly burned when his ship, the S.S. Henry Knox, was torpedoed.
He survived by jumping off and spending all night in the ocean.
Still he signed on for 3 more tours of duty in the navy.
Pauro has also won a victory medal, purple heart and distinguished service medal.
