PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles have released tight end James Casey.
The Eagles made the announcement to part ways with the 30-year-old Azle, Texas native on Twitter.
Casey, himself, responded to his release on Twitter:
"I was fired by the Eagles today. Thank you to the entire organization, my teammates, coaches, and all the fans for 2 great years."
Casey played in all 16 games for the Eagles in 2014. He had 2 touchdowns and 3 receptions.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Casey played on the Houston Texans.
He is a graduate of Rice University.
