NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- An investigation into a string of car burglaries in Delaware led to the arrest of an attempted murder suspect.

38-year-old Jason Scott and 29-year-old Kathleen Brown were taken into custody for theft and other charges.

In the thefts, which occurred in the County Parkland section, items including electronics and purses were stolen.

At the time of their arrest authorities say the pair was in possession of heroin and a stolen gun.

Police say Scott has also been charged in a shooting of a 27-year-old at the Foxwood Apartments earlier in May. The victim survived his injuries.

Both Scott and Brown were taken into custody during a vehicle stop on I-295 without incident.
