BANGOR, Pa. (WPVI) -- Alert lifeguards prevented a 5-year-old from drowning at the public pool in Bangor, Pennsylvania.
Late Tuesday afternoon, four lifeguards jumped into action after spotting the young girl in trouble.
"One cleared the pool, one got the supplies, and two were doing the CPR," Cathy Allen of the Bangor Borough Council said.
The girl was unconscious when she was pulled from the water, but came to after CPR.
She was taken to the hospital.
Officials say the incident is a reminder to always be aware where kids are at a pool, to take toys out when children aren't swimming, and even if kids aren't old enough to swim, they should learn how to float.
