Six days until Election Day, much of the political debate is about "garbage."

First, the backlash over a comedian's racist comments about Puerto Rico that former President Donald Trump has not apologized for -- and now President Joe Biden appearing to call Trump's supporters "garbage" and stepping on Vice President Kamala Harris' message of unity aimed at attracting disaffected Republicans.

Trump says his campaign is one of 'positive solutions'

Former President Donald Trump said on social media late Tuesday that his "campaign of positive solutions to save America" stands in contrast to what he called Vice President Kamala Harris' "campaign of hate."

"She has spent all week comparing her political opponents to the most evil mass murderers in history," Trump wrote on Truth Social, before also hitting out at President Joe Biden.

"Now, on top of everything, Joe Biden calls our supporters 'garbage,'" Trump continued, though he was the first to use the term "garbage can" to describe the United States with a migrant population.

Calling Harris and Biden "unfit" to lead the country, Trump claimed he's leading "the biggest, broadest, and most important political coalition in American history."

"We are welcoming historic numbers of Latinos, African Americans, Asian Americans, and citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed," Trump wrote. "It is my desire to be the president of all the people," he continued.

Trump holds rally in Pennsylvania city with Latino-majority population

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening returned to a Hispanic-majority town in eastern Pennsylvania after a comedian at Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden over the weekend sparked controversy by making racist jokes about Latinos, including calling Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage."

1 week until Election Day: Trump holds roundtable in Drexel Hill, rallies in Allentown

Trump's rally took place in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a city of more than 125,000 people where the Hispanic population makes up 55% of the total, according to the U.S. Census data, with much of that number being Puerto Ricans.

"If we win Pennsylvania, we're going to win the whole deal," he told his supporters.
