BUTLER, Pa. -- Police say a Pennsylvania man used his 275-pound body to restrain his girlfriend during a fight at their home.

The Butler Eagle reports 62-year-old John Prementine held down his 55-year-old girlfriend for nearly an hour Saturday by resting his body on hers.

The woman tells Butler Township police she struggled to breathe and feared she was going to die. According to a criminal complaint, Prementine told her, "If we are both going to die, we are going to die together."

Police say three people eventually arrived and intervened. Police say Prementine hit one of them.

Prementine remained jailed Wednesday on charges of unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 24.

His public defender didn't immediately comment.
