Medford camp instructor arrested on child porn charges

MEDFORD, N.J. (WPVI) -- A Medford, New Jersey camp instructor has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

The Burling County Prosecutor's Office and Medford Township police say 32-year-old Stephen Gifford was charged with three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Officials say Gifford is presently employed as a ropes course instructor and maintenance worker at the JCC Camps at Medford and by Virtua Health System, where his duties include patient transport.

Gifford was taken into custody at his residence Thursday morning.

According to officials, Gifford uploaded a pornographic image involving a child for others to access.

Authorities seized numerous digital storage devices belonging to Gifford which allegedly contained pornographic images and videos of adult males engaged in sexual acts with underage females.

Bail was set at $100,000 with no 10 percent option.
