MIDDLETOWN, Del. (WPVI) -- A man was killed and a woman and her daughter were injured in a head-on collision in Middletown, Delaware.
It happened around 2:55 p.m. Saturday on Summit Bridge Road north of Marl Pit Road.
Police say two vehicles were involved.
According to investigators, the driver of a Ford Edge was headed northbound then suddenly drifted into the southbound lanes.
The driver of a Ford C-Max Hybrid attempted to swerve out of the way but was struck head-on.
The driver of the Ford Edge, a 66-year-old man, had to be pulled from the wreckage.
He was taken to Christiana Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. No word on his identity.
The two surviving victims in the other vehicle, a 44-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter were hospitalized in stable condition.
Summit Bridge Road was shut down for two hours as the scene was cleared.
The accident is under investigation.
