READING (WPVI) -- A Berks County mother is speaking out after being accused of leaving her young child in a freezing minivan while she went to a barbershop.

23-year-old Mirella Rodriguez is charged with endangering the welfare of children after police found her 1-year-old daughter alone in her minivan Tuesday.

She was apparently taking her other child to get a haircut.

Last night Rodriguez took to her Facebook page to defend herself saying in part that she's not a bad mother.

She went on to accuse the cops and the media of blowing the story out of proportion.

In addition, Rodriquez's father says the child was alone in the 20 degree car for less than 20 minutes and claims his daughter was constantly checking on the girl.

Police maintain the toddler was alone for up to 45 minutes.

The child was not hurt.
