Search for missing Delaware mother continues

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- On the front lawn where Nefertiri Trader was last seen, family and friends said prayers and made emotional pleas to the public Thursday.

"Please let my sister come home, her kids need her," sister Jakine Trader said.

The 33-year-old mother of three was last seen outside her New Castle, Delaware home on June 30th around 4:30 a.m. following a quick trip to a nearby 7-Eleven.

"Immediately after her visiting 7-Eleven, she came back home. There was a witness that actually observed her being forced into her vehicle and then driving away," New Castle County Police Officer 1st Class Tracy Duffy said.

"There are people closer to [the witness] that I know heard her better than he did or saw something a lot more clear than he did," cousin William Trader said.

Police say there is no activity on her missing phone or credit cards.

The owner of the 7-Eleven tells Action News, the store's surveillance video captured her around 4:20 a.m., wearing a pink sweat suit. She bought two cups of coffee, a loaf of bread, and cigarettes.

On Thursday, investigators passed out flyers in her neighborhood with pictures of Trader and a car similar to her 2000 silver Acura with Delaware tags 404893.

Police say they don't know if she was alone or followed home, but they don't believe this was random.

It's not clear if Trader had any problems in her personal life that would lead to her disappearance.

"I don't know anyone who would have hurt her. She's a good girl," relative Connie Potts said.

Trader's family says she works as a housekeeper at Christiana Hospital.

Her family also says she is a devoted mother who would never walk away from her family.

Anyone with information on Nefertiri's whereabouts is urged to call police.
