ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- A busy night on the boardwalk, and a beautiful night for a stroll. Action News caught up with folks as they made the most of their last night of vacation.

On a cool, breezy night in Atlantic City, people packed the boardwalk after a sun-filled afternoon.

Laura Waladkewics of Lumberton, NJ said, "We're going to have some ice cream later of course. Just enjoying the last days of summer."

Folks from Lumberton are wrapping up their final night of vacation with a little friendly competition.

At Atlantic City Mini Golf, workers say it was a busy day after Saturday's washout.

Kostadin Kostadinov of Atlantic City Mini Golf said, "It was supposed to be yesterday more busy because it's Saturday, but the rain. So today was extremely busy."

While the breeze was cool, it wasn't too cold for a frozen treat.

Angelina Vuong of Newburgh, NY said, "I have blueberry raspberry water ice." It's a little chilly, Action News asked. "Yeah, but I always get water ice anyway."

After a day of collecting seashells, Helena Tadros enjoyed an ice cream with Mom and Dad on her last night away before starting seventh grade later this week.

"I'm kind of nervous because this year is going to be a lot of work. But I'm going to be happy to see my friends again though," she said.

Everyone we spoke to was thankful for some gorgeous weather after a soggy Saturday that left many stuck inside.

Larry Glauser of Northeast Philly said, "Took us to Ocean City boardwalk and we never could get out of the car."

In Margate, we found people soaking up the sun, and running off a little cabin fever.

"I've been rolling in the sand. And doing backflips," Lauren Abrams of Cherry Hill, NJ said.

The forecast looks gorgeous for Monday, so lots of people are planning to sneak in some beach time.
