You can call it the "great pumpkin" launch.
Nearly a hundred math and science students in North Jersey showed off their skills to see who could toss their pumpkin the furthest.
The teens follow a STEM program to design and construct their own launchers.
Most of the students are eyeing careers as future engineers.
The event, although friendly, is also a chance to land a spot in the world competition, and receive a coveted scholarship.
