Firefighters battle 5-alarm Queen blaze

Crews battled a 5-alarm fire in Queens.

NEW YORK (WPVI) -- Firefighters have brought a 5-alarm fire on 97th Street in Queens, New York under control.

The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. Thursday inside an apartment building in Ozone Park containing 24 units.

Heavy smoke and flames poured from the building as firefighters worked on the roof to try to put it out.

More than 200 firefighters were on the scene.

The fire also impacted subway traffic as service was halted on the elevated line over Liberty Avenue, but A and C train service has resumed with residual delays.
