NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Firefighters in Newark, Delaware battled a multi-alarm fire.
The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Autumn Park Apartments on the unit block of Winterhaven Drive.
A second alarm was struck around 5 p.m., followed by a third at 5:40 p.m.
Firefighters have reported heavy fire coming from the third floor.
One apartment building suffered heavy damage. The fire did not spread to any other building, Action News is told.
The American Red Cross of Delmarva is assisting 12 families.
