SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a burglary suspect who they say posed as a home care nurse.

The unknown female suspect was found wandering around a house on the 1000 block of Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia back on August 28.

Police say when the elderly homeowner confronted her, she said she was a nurse sent by the hospital.

Although the victim was in need of assistance, she told police she didn't recognize the suspect and asked for more information.

That's when the suspect said she needed to move her vehicle from a nearby 7-Eleven store parking lot and walked out, but never returned.

The victim later discovered that her drawers had been rummaged through and all of her jewelry was missing.

Police have released surveillance of the burglary suspect inside the 7-Eleven store that afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to call Philadelphia police at 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
