MANASQUAN, N.J. (WPVI) -- New Jersey State Police are investigating after a fatal boating accident in Manasquan, Monmouth County.
At around 1:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to a report of an accident involving a capsized pontoon boat at the Manasquan Inlet.
A search and rescue was conducted by several agencies, including state police and the U.S. Coast Guard, and seven male victims were recovered and accounted for, police said.
Two victims have been pronounced dead, and four others were taken to Ocean Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries. One victim refused treatment, police said.
The two deceased have been identified as Alex Osadchy, 66, and Grigory Klokishner, 74, both of Philadelphia.
Osadchy was pronounced dead at the scene. Klokishner was flown to Jersey Shore Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Based on a preliminary investigation, officials said the boat capsized due to a large swell. As a result, all seven occupants entered the water.
Officials said an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, however, results will not be immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing.
