Officials say an 80-year-old woman was badly burned in a house fire in Philadelphia's Frankford section late Wednesday night.
The fire broke out at 11:06 p.m. in the 1600 block of Orthodox Street.
Firefighters arrived to heavy flames showing on the second floor of a 2-story home.
Police and fire crews worked together to rescue the woman from the burning house.
She suffered second and third degree burns and was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
A man was also taken to Temple for treatment. There was no word on his condition.
The Red Cross was assisting one person.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
