AUGUSTA, GA (WPVI) -- A juror's web search landed her in hot water in Georgia.

Takia Ivey was sent to an Augusta jail for five days and given a $500 fine after authorities say she violated court rules, WRDW-TV reports.

Ivey allegedly looked up information online about the laws and precedents in the case she was hearing.

As a result, the judge has declared a mistrial in the case and a new set of jurors will be called.

Court officials say only the judge can tell jurors which laws and precedents to use.
