Shane Montgomery laid to rest

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Shane Montgomery was laid to rest Friday - one week after his body was discovered in the Schuylkill River.

Family and friends said their final goodbyes to the 21-year-old college student at a funeral service at St. John the Baptist Church in Manayunk.

He was buried at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken.

Family and friends first gathered in Manayunk on Thursday evening for a viewing.

Montgomery's body was discovered in the Schuylkill River last weekend.

He had been missing since early Thanksgiving morning after leaving a Manayunk bar while out with friends.

His death was ruled accidental.
