POTTSTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Montgomery County woman accused of having sex with a 17-year-old boy, whom she met at a school function, was back in court Tuesday morning.

42-year-old Iris Gibney of Pottstown waived her preliminary hearing and remains free on bail.

Gibney had nothing to share with reporters as she entered court. She faces charges of corrupting a minor, and sending partly nude photos of herself via cellphone to that minor.

Upper Pottsgrove police say last November an officer came across an SUV at a township park. Inside was a couple apparently engaged in a sex act.

The male was a 17-year-old boy. He told the officer he met the female, not his girlfriend, at his high school football game. The officer stated he realized the female was much older. It's alleged she was 42-year-old Iris Gibney.

According to a court document, Gibney blurted out, "I've never been in trouble before. I can't believe I did this. I have three children of my own. I am so, so sorry."

In a later interview, police say the alleged victim told them he met Gibney at Pottsgrove High School. Gibney reportedly volunteered to help the school's cheerleaders.

Today Gibney gave up her right to a preliminary hearing.

Leaving the courthouse Gibney maintained her silence. While not admitting any guilt, her attorney Fortunato Perri indicated the devoted wife and mother was devastated.

Perri says, "She is heartbroken at the decision that she made under these circumstances. We are going to make every effort now at this point to move forward with her life. It is going to be very difficult to put the pieces back together."

Gibney has been charged with Corruption of Minors, Disseminating Obscene Materials to a Minor, and Trespass by Motor Vehicle.
