Woman pinned under own car in Northeast Philadelphia

SOMERTON (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating a terrible accident that has left a woman with serious injuries in the city's Somerton section.

The accident was reported around 5:30 p.m. Friday in the 11000 block of Jamison Avenue near Red Lion Road.

Police say the 46-year-old woman was picking up her children at The Klein JCC.

When she got out of the vehicle, it started to roll. She tried to stop it, but was knocked over and became trapped underneath.

Police say her chest was crushed.

She is currently in critical condition at Aria-Torresdale Hospital.
