A multi-vehicle crash left one person dead and two others injured in Northeast Philadelphia.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A multi-vehicle crash left one person dead and one in critical condition in Northeast Philadelphia.

The crash happened just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Roosevelt Boulevard and Woodward Street.

Police said the 19-year-old male driver of a 2002 Nissan lost control, while traveling southbound, went off the roadway.

Police say the Nissan hit a 2003 Toyota before striking a utility pole.

The impact split the Nissan in half, police said, and the driver was ejected.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the Toyota was transported to Aria Health Torresdale in critical condition with fractured ribs and contusions to lungs.

The Nissan also hit a 2015 Acura that was stopped on the road.

No other injuries were reported.

Police have not released the name of the deceased victim.
