Truck crashes on NE Extension of Pa. Turnpike during snowstorm

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A crash involving a tractor-trailer shut down multiple lanes of the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike for several hours during Thursday's snowfall.

The Turnpike Commission had to shut down the southbound lanes between Quakertown and Lansdale.

Officials said the trailer of the truck remained upright after the crash, but the power unit overturned and was blocking all lanes.

The incident was cleared by mid-afternoon.
