Police: Man shoots at occupied car in Quakertown, Pa. Walmart parking lot

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A man is under arrest after he allegedly opened fire on an occupied car in a Walmart parking lot.

Brandon Grosso, 32, was arrested late Thursday night at a motel in Milford Township, Bucks County.

Police say he shot at a car occupied by a Barb Lavin and her 22-year-old son, Sean, in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Quakertown earlier in the evening.

They were not injured.

"I called 911 right away," Sean said, "and I said 'I just have been shot at.'"

It was a close call. Police say they could have been killed.

"The police did tell me that one inch lower, or me moving a little bit differently, the angle of my car, and I would not be here," Barb said.

Police say Grosso was first involved in an incident at a Yum Yum bake shop along Broad Street in Quakertown. Investigators wouldn't go into to detail about that incident, but the Lavin family says Grosso was spotted in the area with a gun and people called 911.

They encountered him in the parking lot of the nearby Walmart.

Things escalated quickly.

"I didn't actually realize that he used a gun on the car at first. I thought he threw a rock at my car. Then I asked my son if we were hit, and he said 'yes,' and my back window was all shattered," Barb said.

Barb says Grosso was driving aggressively and tried to pass her. She was afraid and sped up.

But instead of just driving off, Grosso allegedly followed her, and fired that shot from inside his car.

Barb said she had just dropped off her daughter at work.

"I am just glad someone up there was watching over me, because clearly they were from the angle where that bullet shot was," said Sean.

Just hours after the shooting, police were able to track down Grosso and take him in to custody without incident.

"As soon as I found out he was caught, I am like 'Okay, there is relief right there. I don't have to be paranoid anymore."

"I hope he gets a lot of help. I truly do. I hope whatever was wrong with him, I hope he gets the help," said Barb.

Grosso was being held on $150,000 bail.
