Komen Race for the Cure tradition in Philadelphia being replaced

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- There's a big change Tuesday for a longtime Philadelphia tradition.

The Komen Race for the Cure is being replaced.

Officials announced that the new More than Pink Walk will take place this Mother's Day, instead of the run.

They say funding for the race has plateaued in recent years and resources are needed elsewhere.

The walk will continue to raise money for breast cancer research.
