Man sought in theft of Philadelphia police uniform

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is being sought by Philadelphia police after they say he swiped an officer's badge, hat and patrol jacket from the Criminal Justice Center.

It happened at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday on the 5th floor of the center, located on the 1300 block of Filbert Street.

Police say a 25th District officer had placed them on a bench outside a courtroom before going in to testify.

The suspect is described as a black male, 40-50 years of age, with a salt-and-pepper beard and mustache. He was seen wearing a tan New York baseball hat, tan jacket, red vest, white shirt, tan pants and boots.
