PLYMOUTH TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the violent death of a man whose body was found slumped in a car at a shopping center in Plymouth Township.

A passerby discovered the victim and called police just before 6 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Ridge Pike.

"There was just blood from his mouth down to his chest," said T.J. Reino from the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.

"You don't know how to react. It's like, we are kind of speechless," Zita Patsko of Havertown.

Action News was first to show you surveillance video of the incident unfolding in the parking lot.

Around 5 p.m., on the far left, two men are seen getting into a Buick LaCrosse sedan. Minutes later they run out. One appears to have a backpack.

Seconds pass, the brake lights go on and off, and then the car starts to roll down the lot, leaving a bloody trail along the way.

It comes to a stop after bumping into a parked car. The video shows movement in the car by the victim. Then he slumps over.

The surveillance cameras are mounted on Gavin Pennock's business.

"It's very awkward, especially toward the end when you kind of see no more movement," said Pennock. "A little disturbing."

Many people found the scene disturbing, including Jody Davies, who works nearby.

"Out my window of my office, I saw a man slumped over in his car," said Davies. "He was wearing a light colored shirt because it was bloody from his neck to his waist."

Reino was the first to approach the car and called police.

"I parked my car right over where a lot of the blood spatter was in the parking lot," said Reino.

"I noticed there was someone in the front seat of the car kind of leaned over," he said. "The windows were tinted. It was dark out. I got a closer look, and the guy was bloody from the mouth down."

After hours collecting evidence, investigators towed the victim's car for further processing.

"Watching TV last night you could kind of still see the picture image of what I saw in the car," said Reino. It's "probably something I'll carry with me for a little bit of time."

Investigators have released few details about the case.

They are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
