HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating an officer-involved shooting of a dog.
It happened just before 9 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Pike Street.
Police said the officer shot and killed the dog after the animal was reportedly attacking a 50-year-old man.
Investigators said the man was attacked by four dogs and bitten in the right leg.
The man was taken to Temple University Hospital with critical injuries. Officials said he died about an hour later.
Police said the man might have had narcotics in his system.
According to officials, investigators were on scene, attempting to round up the other three dogs.
