Newlywed couple takes unique approach to receive pope's blessing

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A pair of newlyweds channeled Romanian tradition Friday in an attempt to get the pope's blessing.

The couple, who wed a month ago, put on the same attire they wore on their wedding day to catch the pope's eye.

"In Rome there's a tradition where if newlyweds wearing their wedding attire come to meet the Holy Father ... then you actually can meet him and he gives you a blessing," said newlywed Blake Robinson.

And a blessing from Pope Francis is what they hope to get during his visit this weekend.
