Celebration to mark Ben Franklin Bridge's 100th anniversary

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- While the nation will be celebrating its 250th birthday this summer, another Philadelphia landmark will mark its own milestone.

The Ben Franklin Bridge is turning 100 years old.

The Delaware River Port Authority and the city of Philadelphia are planning a celebration.

The bridge will close to vehicular traffic for the free event on July 11.

People will be able to walk the bridge and enjoy food trucks, carnival rides, live music and more family-friendly activities.

There will also be a pop-up museum highlighting a century of the bridge's legacy, with exhibits showcasing bridge artifacts and pieces from throughout its history.
