Eagles Super Bowl ring designer speaks about labor of love

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Laced with 12 carats of diamonds, it's the ring that Eagles fans can't stop talking about.

But it's that technology built into the bling that's the real showstopper.

"We were just kind of like, what have we not done yet?" said Will Gearin, director of sales of Jason of Beverly Hills. "And since the Eagles have wings, we were like, how does this work? And so, you know, many, many hours, and just figuring out playing around with different ideas."

With the press of a button, the wings on the ring spread, revealing coach Nick Sirianni's message: "You can't be great without the greatness of others."

Gearin says this is the first ever championship ring Jason of Beverly Hills has done with that type of technology.

It took several man-hours per ring to ensure each piece operated the way it was meant to.

"Hours on each ring, and you're talking to hundreds of rings. So you know, do the math on there. So, we made the job hard, but it came out perfect, and everyone was super happy," said Gearin.

The ring also includes 40 points of diamonds in World Champions for the 40 points scored against Kansas City and five diamonds on the special feature button for each player who scored in the Super Bowl.

Jason of Beverly Hills is known for little hidden features.

The Eagles are giving a fan a chance to win an official championship ring later this month. They could also score two tickets to the November 28 game.
