Haddon Heights hosts a watch party this weekend to support NJ farmers

HADDON HEIGHTS, New Jersey (WPVI) -- The streets of Haddon Heights will be filled with fans this Saturday for a World Cup watch party.

Heights in Progress is hosting the event on Saturday, and they have another goal besides enjoying the soccer game.

They're fundraising to support farmers after crops were lost during April's freezing temperatures.

"All of our cup sales, 50% of the proceeds will be going to two charitable donations: Vegetable Growers Association of New Jersey and Farmers Against Hunger. It really devastated a lot of the farmers' ability to grow produce. So we feel that it's important to... help them get back on their feet," said Heights in Progress Co-Founder, Fabian Brown.

"We started with a farmer's market and then it kind of turned into business improvement, marketing, business development, getting capital improvements...It's important because we want to give back. We don't just want to take in. We are super...humbled and happy to help," said Director of Heights in Progress, Joseph Gentile.

The events take place Saturday, June 13th from 3pm-9pm at Station Avenue & W. Atlantic Avenue
