License plate readers, drone help police nab car theft suspects in Delco

MARPLE TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Technology and teamwork led to the arrest of several men suspected of car thefts in Delaware County.

Police say automated license plate readers flagged a stolen vehicle traveling on West Chester Pike in Marple Township on Sept. 19. Officers tracked the car to Brookthorpe Circle, where they encountered multiple individuals dressed in dark clothing.

A police chase ensued, ending just west of Media Line Road after officers deployed a tire deflation device.

Two suspects - Jahlil Reece-Savage and Imair Harrington - were taken into custody at the scene. Police used a drone to locate and arrest two additional suspects nearby.

All four men are facing burglary charges.
