PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Northeast Philadelphia family is recovering after a terrifying home invasion and abduction early Saturday morning in Northeast Philadelphia.
The victim, who was too shaken to speak on camera, showed Action News the marks left on his wrists from zip-ties and a wound on his head where he says he was pistol-whipped. He and his family are now pleading for help in finding the people responsible.
Surveillance video shows two masked suspects forcing their way into a home on the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
The man who lives there told Action News the suspects followed him and his family inside. He says his four children were home at the time, and when his three-year-old son began crying, one of the intruders pointed a gun at the child and told him to be quiet.
The victim says his hands were zip-tied before the suspects stole several personal belongings. The men then abducted him and his brother at gunpoint.
Surveillance footage shows one of the suspects holding a gun to the victim's back as he was led out behind the home.
According to the victim, the suspects drove him and his brother off in his Grand Wagoneer, with his hands still tied. Investigators were able to track a phone connected to the case to the 2000 block of Albright Street in Kensington.
During a confrontation there, police say an officer fired their weapon, but no one was struck.
Neighbors in Kensington say they woke up to the sound of chaos.
"Bow, bow, bow, I'm like whoa!" said Noah Berry, who lives nearby. "When I got up, all I saw were cops and tape."
"I woke up around four in the morning, came to my door, and saw cops all up and down the block," said Jamil Dabney.
The suspects ran from the scene and remain on the run. Police said the abducted men were safely freed.
Neighbors say they're stunned something like this could happen in what's usually a quiet community.
"There's a lot of kids around here, a lot of families. I've never heard of anything like a kidnapping. Very surprising," said Henry Lee, who lives nearby.
The victim says he doesn't recognize the suspects and now plans to move his family out of the neighborhood. They remain badly shaken by the ordeal.
