PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Amira Brown was overcome with emotion on Friday afternoon as she remembered her son, Steven Dreuitt, who tragically died in the medical jet crash in Northeast Philadelphia back in January.
Dreuitt was in a car with his girlfriend, Dominique Goods-Burke, when the jet crashed into a parking lot near the Roosevelt Mall. Dominique died from her injuries months later.

"It's not easy, and I'm definitely struggling," said Brown.
Also in the car that night was Amira's grandson, Ramesses Vazquez. He suffered burns on over 90% of his body and is still undergoing skin graft surgeries at a Boston-area children's hospital, where his mother lives.
"Ramesses just had his tenth birthday, and he cried," said Brown.
Through the tragedy, a local paint company is stepping in to help ease some of Brown's pain. On Friday, they surprised her with a complimentary home paint project.

"When I heard about Amira's story, my heart was broken. And I just felt so much for her and her family, what she has been through. This just feels like a little bit of hope we could give her, to show her and her family that we support her," said Andrew Tomasetti, owner of Paint Philadelphia.
As Brown continues to navigate life without her son, she keeps him close, wearing his class ring around her neck and his ashes in another ring on her finger.
She says she's grateful for the kindness of strangers who have now become friends.
"I really want to thank them. They have been really wonderful and supportive," said Brown.
In addition to Dominique Goods-Burke, seven others were killed in the crash. The jet was traveling back to Mexico when it plunged to the ground.
