WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The City of Philadelphia announced a plan Monday to invest more than $9 million dollars toward the restoration of Cobbs Creek Golf Course.
Mayor Cherelle Parker gave details on the plan at the course on Lansdowne Avenue.
Officials say this funding will help build 25 new acres of wetlands.
The goal is to reduce the risk of flooding in that area.
The wetlands will also serve as a public space for the neighborhood and a new environmental classroom for local students.
