Police chase in Delaware County, Pa. ends in deadly multi-vehicle crash

TINICUM TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- A suspect is dead after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in a multi-vehicle crash in Delaware County.

Chopper 6 was over the wreck at Route 420 and Rt. 291 in Tinicum Township around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Police in Eddystone Borough say officers spotted a vehicle with stolen tags and a chase ensued.

The pursuit ended in Tinicum Township where police say the suspect and another vehicle were both involved in a crash.

The sole occupant of the other vehicle was hospitalized, police said. There was no immediate word on their condition.

Police have not identified the suspect who died.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
