VIDEO: NJ dream home turns into a nightmare
A dream home has become a nightmare in north jersey.

A dream home has become a nightmare in north jersey.

The homeowner paid 1.6 million dollars for the Florham Park home nearly a decade ago.

He says it immediately began sinking, cracking, and crumbling.

His lawyer claims the builder, J-D-N Properties, defrauded his client by cutting corners on the soil under the foundation.

The builder's attorney says there was no intent to defraud and the builder tried to fix the foundation years ago.

A few years ago, a judge ruled the builder had defrauded the homeowner and ordered JDN Properties to pay millions in damages, but successfully appealed that decision this month.

Homeowner, Humayun Akhtar said, I spent all the money I had. I basically got cleaned out in the process. I have nothing."

The case now goes to a jury.
