A woman was injured after a fast-moving fire in a restaurant that housed apartments above in West Philadelphia early Thursday morning.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman is hospitalized after a fast-moving fire in a restaurant that spread to several apartments above it in West Philadelphia.



The blaze broke out at 1:00 a.m. Thursday on the first floor of the Cafe Renata in the 4300 block of Locust Street.



The fire then spread to the apartments above.



It took firefighters half an hour to place it under control.



A woman who lived in one of the apartments suffered smoke inhalation. She was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.



A laundromat next door was damaged by smoke and water.



Fire investigators are working to determine what sparked the blaze.
