EAST MEADOW -- State police say a Long Island man driving with his 2-year-old child has been arrested in connection with a road rage assault.

It allegedly happened Sunday afternoon on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in East Meadow.

Police say the victim was treated for a broken jaw and broken bones in his face.

Rouson Hinton of Uniondale allegedly forced the other motorist off the road. Police say he then stepped out of his Lexus, punched the other driver in the face and fled.

Witnesses provided police with the suspect's license plate and Hinton was arrested as he pulled into his driveway.

Police say the 28-year-old faces assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges.

It wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer who could comment.
