Rock & Roll Half Marathon traffic detours

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- There are number of traffic detours due to the Rock & Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon on Sunday.

The following streets will be closed:

Eakins Oval-Eakins Oval-Closed at 3:00 a.m. for event set-up. It will remain closed until the end of the ceremonies, at or about 1:00 p.m.

Arch Street-Between 4th and 16th -Closed at 6:00 a.m.for event set-up

Race Street-Between 11th & 12th-closed at 8:00 a.m. for event set-up

Market Street-Between 16th & 20th Street-closed at 6:00 a.m. for event set-up

JFK Blvd.-Between 16th & 30th-closed at 6:00 a.m. for event set-up

MLK Drive-From the Art Museum to Neil Drive-closed at 6:00 a.m.

Kelly Drive-From Linciln Drive to Eakins Oval-closed at 7:00 a.m., re-opening at or about 11:00 a.m.

Benjamin Franklin Parkway-Between 16th and Eakins Oval-closed at 7:00 a.m., re-opening at approximately 11:00 a.m. Traffic will be pulled through the intersection when possible, and will be held at the intersections while the race passes.

Eastbound traffic from Spring Garden Street Bridge will be detoured at Eakins Oval to the outer lanes of the Ben Franklin Parkway. The outer lanes of the parkway eastbound will be detoured south on 20th Street during the event. The outer lanes of the Parkway westbound will be detoured north on 22nd Street during the event.

SEPTA Bus Routes 2, 4, 7, 6, 16, 17, 23, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 43, 44, 48, 124 and 125 will be detoured from their routes. Detours are scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. and will be in effect through the duration of the event. Specific routings are available on the System Status page at www.septa.org

Where appropriate, travelers should consider Center City travel on the Broad Street and Market Frankford Lines along with Trolley Routes 10, 11, 13, 34, and 36 which travel underground to minimize detour-related delays.

Half Marathon Route: East on the Parkway to 16th Street, South on 16th Street to J.F.K. Blvd., West on JFK Blvd. to 20th Street, South on 20th Street to Market Street, East on Market Street to South Penn Square. South Penn Square to Juniper Street, North on Juniper Street to Market Street, East on Market Street to 4th Street, North on 4th Street to Arch Street, West on Arch Street to 11th Street, North on 11th Street to Race Street, East on Race Street to 12th Street, South on 12th Street to Arch Street, East on Arch Street to the Ben Franklin Parkway, West on the Parkway (inner drive) through Logan Circle (N/S) and Eakins Oval (N/S), to Kelly Drive. North on Kelly Drive to the Falls Bridge. Across the Falls bridge to Martin Luther King Drive. South on Martin Luther King Drive to Eakins Oval to the finish line.
